Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer | Product Review

Smashbox photo finish foundation primer review...

So... Where do I start with this incredible product! I bought the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer about a year ago, as I had only heard good things! And every single thing I had heard was true. The primer has lasted me about a year, and I use a tiny bit everyday, so it's pretty long lasting I would say!? The only negative I can say is that the primer was quite expensive at £25, which is for 30ml / 1fl .oz. of product. However, I do think it was worth every penny. The coverage is great, and you only need a small drop of product to cover the whole face; which I apply to my face with my MAC 187 brush. At first, I was a little confused because I wasn't sure if it was even applying to my face?! But then I realised it's just so light and airy that you feel like there is actually no product going on - It's amazing! - Although... this can sometimes be a bit daunting and make you wonder, is anything really changing here? The answer to that question, for me, is yes there certainly is! It improved the coverage of my concealer by ridiculous amounts; I use the Mac Studio Fix Concealer, which is compact and quite hard, and this made it feel so soft and allowed me to every so lightly apply it around my face without any trouble or any force of my concealer brush. The primer made my face feel unbelievably smooth, and even though the primer is clear, (this is quite strange...), it made my skin actually look slightly airbrushed, any variation in colour of my skin, such as redness, seems to blend in and even out. It also helped me with shine control, of which, I have quite oily skin, however, the product almost has a matte effect when I applied to to my face and reduced the shininess significantly.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this product, I use it every day and am yet to find a better primer! The only problem is that it is quite pricey, however, boots online and in most stores do offer a travel sized version for 12ml / 0.4fl .oz. if you want to try before you buy! Or, if you want to head into the world of smashbox and try this product and a few others, you can purchase their Try It Kit, for £19. It comes with tester sizes of this primer, their Photo Finish Lid Primer, Full Exposure Mascara, Limitless Eyeliner in Onyx and Lip Enhancing Gloss in Illume.

If there's anything I missed that you want to know about the primer just ask!
